Things you should NEVER do when promoting a DeFi project

DeFi is gaining a lot of attention nowadays, as a result, more projects in this field appear. If you decided to create and promote your DeFi project, here’s the list of things that you should never do to succeed.

1. Doing everything all alone.

Even if you truly desire to do all the necessary things for your project by yourself, that is the way how you can fail. In the DeFi field, you should rely on different specialists as PR managers, programmers, and designers. You won’t be physically able to control all the things that are needed at the same time, so hiring a team of specialists will help you not to succeed but to survive. Even though it may cost a lot, it is worth paying, professionals can help make your business lucrative. They may help you to come up with a brilliant marketing strategy, design and your project will blow up.

2. Not developing a PR campaign.

Even though it is time-consuming and it’s really hard to work with, you need to develop your PR strategy constantly. If you are not creative or not able to manage it, you can rely on your team. Yes, it takes time and may be quite expensive, but it builds your authority. Quality publications and posts on social media can establish you as an expert. As a consequence, you will be able to increase brand awareness and turn visitors to tour websites into real buyers. Moreover,  a well-thought-out marketing strategy has a compound effect – if you publish a lot of content, it becomes more powerful and effective. With help of a PR strategy, you can reach your target audience, you will be speaking directly with your potential clients.

3. Focusing only on one aspect of PR

As it was mentioned above, PR has a strong power to pursue your project and make it very popular among your target audience. Nevertheless, you shouldn’t be focused only on posts on social media or having articles in trustworthy publications. You ought to remember about the usefulness of your articles and posts, visitors need to see if you can be an appropriate company to buy from or to use your services.

Anyways, you should be sure that you don’t miss any component of your promotion, for example, track your reputation online, etc.

4. Buying fake followers

Even if there is a temptation to boost your social media account, buying subscribers in order to seem better is not the right decision. Defining whether the subscribers are real or not is very easy. This way, your potential clients who were thinking about buying from you, will go away.  Nobody appreciates bought followers because people will start thinking that you are cheating.  Even if you have 200 followers or less, do yourself a favor, never buy them.

5. Placing quantity over quality

You may come across agencies that promise you hundreds of publications in the media, however, it is better to publish in the most reputable sources, even if they are 10 than to publish 100 times on unknown resources.

6. Trying to be always in the spotlight

If you start posting news when you don’t have it, then you need to stop. Share only useful content with your clients, don’t overdo it. You don’t owe anything to anyone, you don’t have to be in the news center all the time.  If you don’t have anything to publish, you better go for improving your services, design your site, or try to develop a new strategy. Thus, you will not annoy your customers with an abundance of publications and create a suitable atmosphere around yourself that is comfortable for you and your audience.

7. Tease your competitors

Often there is nothing behind boasting and teasing, you do not need to pounce on your competitors, or criticize them hardly.  Instead, you should focus on finding ways of cooperation.  If you attack competitors, you will not be able to become partners in the future.  In the crypto world, the trend for partnerships between companies is growing, so teasing will not be appropriate.

Now you know the top seven mistakes of aspiring start-ups. Pay attention to all aspects of promoting your DeFi project, not just one. Be mindful of your project, don’t focus only on personal ambition.
